     | 2023 06 16. Alpe Adria Trail day 9. We had coffee with our hosts, which the horses were waiting saddled and ready to go outside. We trottet up the valley the next 20 km till Winklern, were we found a bakery again and had our 2nd breakfast. We found a trail up the mountain that would take us across and into the Valley that would take us up to Lienzer Huette. Afternoon at 4 pm we reached the Hut and found out that neither of the two overpasses had been walked this spring. To bad, but we were not going to be the first ones to cross having horses with us. I had hoped it would be possible because of lack of snow in wintertime, but locals tell us that there was heavy snowing in May and very low temperatures till this week. So to bad but better safe than sorry. We will have to leave the Adria Alpe trail after 350 km and find our way back to Switzerland.    |
