2023 06 25 ex Alpe Adria Trail Day 18 We had a nice evening with Severin and his family at Lago Cancanon and when i woke in the morning the dew was frozen on the ground. We packed up and had breakfast, departing at about 8 am for the last leg across Passo del Fuorn and Fontana di S-charl. We took it easy, knowing this would be our last day on this trail and with the weather being perfectly sunny and chilly we rode past some beautiful meadows and up the single trail of Aua Val Mora to the Passo Fuerno. The bike race had caught up with us again and while we were having our iced coffee at the restaurant, the horses were grazing and taken pictures off. Crossing the last mountain range for today we reached S-Charl and i found some people that were willing to take me down to San Jon where my car was parked. 5 hours later, the horses were back home near Schaffhausen in their open stable and we had a final beer, thinking about the memories of this trip. Gee was a great company and we were incredibly lucky with the weather, not having experienced any showers on the entire trail, except for some downpours during the night. We did 640 km in 18 days and climbed a total of 24000 m averaging 48 Lkm a day. With an average distance of 35 km a day. |
